Gel Green, Gel Green is a stable, low toxicity stain with sensitivity comparable to ethidium bromide and is non-mutagenic by Ames test. Gel Green's main UV absorption peak is between 250 nm and 300 nm, but it also absorbs well at 500 nm. Thus, DNA stained with Gel Green can be visualized using a 254 nm UV transilluminator or equipment such as a Dark Reader, Visi-Blue, or a 488 nm laser-based scanner. Stain comes in a 150-ul tube of 10,000× solution. Not recommended for use with acrylamide gels.
